Allison Roberts

With degrees in Art, English and Writing from Nazareth College in Rochester NY, Allison has been an active member of the arts scene for years. Roberts has been in numerous TV commercials, films, and theater productions -- from Veruca Salt in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" to Ivy in "August, Osage County". Building on her experience with popular improv group Sketchy Details, Roberts launched her own hilarious sketch comedy troupe, Estrofest, wearing multiple hats as actor, writer, producer, and mother hen. www.estrofestlaughs.com.

Allison is also a busy visual artist, having worked as a muralist, set designer, painter, and illustrator. Currently, she is a Features Writer for Martha’s Vineyard Times (MV Times), and her writing has also appeared in Vineyard Style Magazine, Rochester Magazine, City Newspaper, RocParent, The Narrow Passage, and The Democrat & Chronicle. These days, she can be found working on a memoir and a selection of comedic and personal essays.

Roberts, the daughter of artists, is married to yet another artist and carpenter, and they share their home with two spoiled cats. Her daughter, Story - an artist in her own right - is a social worker in Rochester NY. Allison and her husband Eric Cady reside in Martha’s Vineyard and spend a lot of time outdoors, staring at their surroundings, wondering how they got so lucky to live in such a magical place.
