Civilians
War causes displacement, famine, poverty, injury, and disease. Far more civilians die as an indirect consequence of armed conflict, than directly in armed conflict. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) verified a total of 953 civilian deaths during Russia's military attack on Ukraine as of March 21, 2022. Of them, 78 were children. Furthermore, 1,557 people were reported to have been injured

Incarceration_Found_Object
People of color―and Black people in particular―are incarcerated at strikingly higher rates than white people across the country. These racial disparities reflect a system that treats Black people more harshly than white people at every stage of the criminal legal process. Racial disparities in incarceration cause disproportionate economic, health, and social harms to communities of color.

Middle Class
In many countries, the middle-class shrinkage results from increased numbers of people at both ends - in other words, there are more rich people and more poor people. In the U.S., it is mostly a rise in the proportion of high-income households and corporate greed that is causing the middle class to shrink.

Women’s Work
Covid transformed our homes into schools and offices and put a
spotlight on the countless household tasks typically performed by women.
A lot of invisible labor has been performed by women, that people,
particularly men — even in the same household — haven’t been aware
of or haven't paid attention to. - Brigid Schulte, npr.org.
In January 2020, women made up more of the workforce than men.
The pandemic erased that status in a matter of weeks. And just as it
took decades to achieve, it could take years to regain. When schools and
childcare centers shut down; 5.1 million American mothers stopped
working for pay. Today, 1.3 million of them remain out of work.
56 percent of American women are working for pay - the lowest level since 1986.
When the pandemic created a child-care crisis, mothers became
the default solution. Even as society starts to reopen, many feel forgotten
and shunted to the sidelines. Childcare, school, and other parts of daily life
remain disrupted because children under 5 cannot yet be vaccinated,
and government paid leave programs have expired.
